Barging In

The spectacle as seen through the window:


This is a crane barge. It’s destination is the fish plant next door which is building an ice machine.

There is this thing called “fish ice,” which is regular ice with a chemical added to slow down its melting. Fish boats load up before they go out to sea. It seems they need so much, our neighbour plant needs a second machine to keep up with demand. The crane barge was meant to help them build it.

Unfortunately, it was a really windy day and the tug boat was having trouble controlling the barge. The barge caught a gust of wind and drifted right into the neighbouring fish plant. Crash! Whoops.
